Lessons with Lex

Lessons with Lex provides private hockey lessons to female hockey players in the metro Detroit area. Private Lessons are a great way for your daughter to interact with and work one on one with a coach who pays special attention to their skills. Team practices are not always planned to work on individual skills. Most hockey players need practice in other areas than their teammates. Private hockey lessons provide your daughter a safe and secure learning environment and individual attention so she can comfortably learn the basic elements of the game. Whether your daughter is playing 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U or high school hockey, she can benefit from a private lesson. Lessons with Lex specializes in female player development. I work with beginners through advanced players on skating, edgework and balance, stick handling, shooting, transitions, speed and agility. Players of all ages and skill levels need to continue to work on their skating fundamentals throughout their hockey careers. Most players, without even realizing it, can improve their stride even further to create more speed and agility in their skating. While a team coach may not be a focused on your player's specific skating stride, a private instructor is!

Why Private Lessons?

Private hockey lessons are not for everyone. However, if your daughter loves hockey and wants to get extra attention and instruction from her coach, private lessons are the way to go. With private hockey lessons, your daughter can try hockey prior to committing to a team to see if she enjoys the sport. Lessons with Lex are fun and educational and are intended to grow girls hockey by shining light on the fun and competitive aspects of the game. Individual Hockey lessons can also be great for your daughter if she excels in a small group environment. Female hockey players want to perfect their skills right and want to impress their coaches. They feel more confident when they can properly execute a skill in games and practices. Confidence is a game changer in young female athletes! Lessons can be taken an various rinks in the metro Detroit area. I work with students from Detroit, St. Clair Shores, Grosse Pointe, Sterling Heights, Rochester, Allen Park, Royal Oak, Birmingham and more.

Skills for the Future

With a college hockey background and experience working with the Girls National Development Camp, Lexi knows what college coaches and next level coaches are looking for in a female hockey player. It takes a good mixture of skill, tenacity and understanding of the game to play at the college or Olympic level. If your daughter is in pursuit of a Division 1, Division 3, or ACHA college hockey career, private lessons can focus on the particular skills she needs to reach and excel at that top level.
